This Obelisk is Bronze and has turned over the years to a nice, rich, nearly black patina. It is
in the center of a family plot in a small Cemetery. It was erected near the end of the 1800s and shows no damage,
nor scarring from the one hundred plus years of it's existence.
There are two major methods of creating a marker similar to this. In years past it would most likely be Sand-Cast
in several "sections" and bolted together using bronze bolts. That is still a very viable way of creating
a monument like this. The second method is to use sheets of Silicon Plate Bronze and fabricate the memorial by
welding the sections together using a tig welder and Silicon Bronze welding rod. Sand-Casting is less expensive
and a very fine Memorial may be created using this method.
The fabrication from plate Bronze is more exacting and will render a Monument with fewer visible
flaws and/or imperfections. Both manners of creating the Memorial will render a monument which will last many hundreds,
even thousands of years.
